The Fast and the Furious

I thought I'd have a bit of a giggle today and blast around a track I know in some new cars I've bought in SL. It turned into a bit of a photoshoot as I started getting a lot of my favourite cars out to play in and then photograph... Results are on Flickr ;)

A little Christmas stocking filler...

As it's nearly Christmas, I thought I'd share this with you all... It was made by DJNoNo Ulysses of Radio Clash fame. He did the audio and video mashes and in my humble opinion, it's the best thing he's ever done...

Anyway, click on 'play' and enjoy this...

Where have I been....

Wow, it feels like ages since I blogged here. Basically, it HAS been ages :D

Firstly, I'm gonna go all self indulgent and say 'Happy Rezday to MEEE!' as I'm a big, whole TWO years old today. I'm throwing a mahoosive party at Parkade later, at least 4 hours behind the decks from me, all kicking off at 6pm PST. You're all invited.

Speaking of Parkade, last time I wrote here, I was keeping everything close to my chest, but as most of you know now, I has a sim! Okies, so it's a 'Homestead' sim and not the full monty, but it'll do. I'm still waiting to find out what the rental company is gonna do with prices in the future, what with the recent foot-in-mouth episode from LL regarding Openspace sims, their apparent overuse and the creation of the same prim but more cash Homestead sims... So, that side of things is all up in the air at the moment, but the sim itself is progressing nicely.

The club is fully built, I've placed my old Motorati/Motorability Garage there, so need to put a few bits inside to make it feel garagey, plus I need to build a little roadway system around the island too. I've also ditched the old terrace from 'round back of the club and moved it over to it's own little beach area that now has the name of The Cove. It's a really cool place to hang out and listen to the more chilled out tunes that are usually played there, however there might be some more raucous beach parties planned there in the future ;)

I know it's long overdue, but thats the state of things at the moment. Stuff is good. Stuff is really good and I'm in a very happy place :D

Peas out!

When things go from bad to worse...

Don't you hate it when you know you've got a limited time left at a place and then you've got to move? Well, dear reader, as I posted below a day ago, Parkade is moving because the sim it's on is being sold, or at least the owner is attempting to sell it. Now, it was all set as one huge parcel, but since Parkade moved there, we separated it into it's own little parcel for TP purposes and to prevent audio bleed. The parcel owners were the same, so prims were shared etc. Well, since the news that everyone is bailing from the sim and that it's up for sale, the landowner has reallocated the main parcel.

I'd imagine you can see where this is going...?

Well, as there wasn't enough group land to support Parkade, most of it was returned to me, for the second time in a week. I arranged a sim rollback last time, but I really am fighting a losing battle this time as it seems that despite me paying rent on my parcel, the landowner doesn't seem to have a grasp on how parcels, prim allocations and stuff works. I simply removed what was left of the club and vented my anger at her for her actions.

So, this is spurring me on to get everything sorted for the re-opening, however work won't be continuing until the weekend at the earliest. Should be enough time to get it all sorted for BootieSL though, hopefully. It does mean that Saturday's rave has been cancelled for the moment, but I will organise something once the club is back up and running again.

I'm at it again...

Yup, I am moving Parkade (again). It seems that since Pontiac left SL back in December 2007, I've had a bit of a rocky ride with the place and it's location. First, it had a home at the Motorability Island complex, but due to me leaving there, I took the club with me. So, I then set up on Kara Zor Isle, but now thats all going tilt, due to the major landowner there not being able to afford the place. Fukmi's already moved her flagship store to the Third Life area and Luscious Latex is also moving all of their stuff out too. So, even though I'm paid up until the end of the month, I've had to sort out a contingency plan. ...and I have ;)

I'm not going to say what I'm doing at the moment, but it is definitely happening and also will provide some much needed security for the club. There will be a few changes to one or two aspects of the Parkade build, however the now trademark club building itself is not being changed one little bit. It's iconic and you don't mess with that sort of stuff.

On the subject of Motorability Island, I also learned that it has been broken up, with 3 sims being bought by one of the old Pontiac Motorati Island tenants and only one United Spinal Association sim remains. Frankly, I'm not surprised as the place has never even broken even since day one. I know it was never designed to make a profit, it was always a charity complex, but the aim was to make money from land rentals, so that the sims could be self sufficient, but sadly it was way off and although it's a shame to see the majority of the sims either close or pass hands, it's nice that one United Spinal sim remains.

Anyway, I'm hoping that I'll be up and running with the latest incarnation of Parkade pretty soon. Theres still a bit of work to be done, like a whole new area to build, oh and other new stuff and some more bits to drop from the inventory, but it won't take too long hopefully, so I'm hoping that maybe, just maybe I can have it open for the second BootieSL of the month. I'm also hoping that I can at least keep the club in it's current location long enough to open the new one, before the sim is pulled out from under me.

Oh and we're having an underground rave on Kara Zor Isle this weekend ;) Starts at 4pm PDT.

Miss Cyberpink - Pjanoo Music

Yup, it’s another mashup straight out of the studio. This one is a relatively straightforward blend of the modern classic ‘Music’ by Madonna and the 2008 summer smash ‘Pjanoo’ by Eric Prydz.

There were no complicated processes making this one, I simply did it in realtime, using Traktor 3. So, it took as long to make as it does to listen to it :D

You can download it here. Enjoy!

Stuff etc.

Woohoo, I'm not dead!!! I haven't heard any rumours to say that I was, but just wanted to say that I'm definitely not dead. I'm dropping crumbs from my lunch all over my desk, but thats nothing compared to how bad things are if I was dead. But I'm not, so it's cool!!!

Okies, if you've not backed away from the monitor muttering that I'm clearly madbonkers, here's whats been going on and what will be happening soon :D

It's been go go go in SL recently, what with sorting bits out for Teller and painting my ever growing fleet of racing cars (pics coming soon), DJing around the place including a kick ass Candy Girls party at Rouge (thanks Codie, mwah!!) and me running around the place buying new hair, new skins and new clothes. Nothing new there then ;) BTW, I will post pice of the 'new' me fairly soon, just need to get around to taking them.

I've got a couple of special DJ gigs and parties coming up soon and whilst they're mentioned on my pure music blog, I thought I'd replicate the aforementioned stuff here too...

So, whats coming up gig wise in the next week or so?

Firstly on Saturday 6th September, I'm spinning at the Global Music Festival, organised by Rezzable and sponsored by Language Lab. It'll be an electro set starting at 2pm until 4pm PDT on the Greenies sim. Promises to be a lot of fun, so if you're kicking your heels and wanting something to do, come along and party... Hard!

As well as the usual Thursday night sessions at Parkade, theres a special Friday night party on Friday 12th September, starting at 2pm PDT. It's an '80s party, so suitable dress attire is mandatory ;) The fun kicks off with Krystal Devonshire spinning a 2 hour MTV Pop style set from the decade, so expect to hear Tiffany, Debbie Gibson etc. in that one and then I'm taking over at 4pm PDT for a 2 hour synthpop set, which will no doubt include New Order, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys etc. It's going to be a really great evening and a lot of fun, so I'd love to see you there!!! I've been listening to a LOT of tunes for this recently, so if you don't want to spoil the surprise, don't check out my LastFM link over there on the right. No, seriously it'll spoil the surprise if you do... Gahhh, do what you want ;)

In other news, we're still putting together a fashion show for Fukmi Clothing and I'm still meaning to pull my finger out and start designing some clothes for the label too... Arrrgh, so much stuff, so little time!!!

Anyway, thats pretty much things in a nutshell (this blog contains no nuts, but is written by one).

See you all again soon!!!

Flickr goodness...

Just thought that anyone who reads this and is bothered, they can check out the new photos I've posted on Flickr...

Hello Mum!!!

Ooooh, I'm in print again. Hehe, I didn't know when this was going to be published, so didn't mention it, but here I am, being the AvaStar of the Week!

Yaaaaay!

Other than that, which is uber-cool and trippy, I've had a mental week DJing. Last week was SecondPride, and again this weekend I've been spinning at the RFL 'Dance Into the Relay' event which raised LOTS of worthy cash for the RFL cause, something that is very dear to my heart, I also did my second set at SecondPride and unfortunately missed a set at a fashion show afterparty, for which I am truly sorry but RL got in the way. However, I did play at a pretty sexy Code Red party alongside Nexeus Fatale which was a giggle. I will be taking some snaps of me in some of the outfits I've been spinning in, so will post those soon. Trust me, they'll even compare to the photos that Veyron usually takes ;)

I'm also pleased to say that I've made my peace with someone who I'd recently parted company with on a professional level and thats nice, so I don't have to worry about that any more. Leah showed up this weekend too, but to be honest, I don't want to talk about it. Nothing, but nothing is going to change my future with Fukmi, so theres nothing to discuss about Leah.

I would like to end this update with a message to someone special. This person is like a sister to me in SL, my best friend and right now, her RL best friend is coming towards the end of her journey on earth, due to nasty and violent cancer. I just want to let her know that I'm here for her, to talk to, to give support and love and just be the best damned friend I can be. I love ya hun, I'll miss her when she's not here too, but I know you'll miss her a whole lot more and I just want to let you know that I'm thinking of both of you xXx

It's been a mad mad mad mad mad mad mad week!

Wow, what a blast! Last weekend saw me DJing a few gigs, although I didn't do the Friday night party at Luscious Latex due to a slight breakdown in musical styles, however it all got sorted and everyone was happy (I think). The event of the weekend has to be Codie's Rouge sim launch, which was just such an amazingly fun time. I will post a little piccy that Marx Dudek took of me when I was relaxing after my 2 hour set there ;)

Yes, that IS me, poledancing topless :D Hell, I DJed in red latex and finished the set topless :D

I also stepped into the role of Owner at the Teller Motorsports Park, alongside my good friend Stacy Spiegel. Teller has more than a checkered history in the SL motorsports scene and now that it has a totally different management team, decent backing and improving staff, we're confident that we can create a truly groundbreaking and stunning motorsports facility in SL. There are a few people out there who would like us to fail totally and are actually going out of their way to try to make that happen. They won't succeed. Personal vendettas against us are pointless and to be honest, unfounded. I doubt that the person I'm referring to is reading this, but on the off chance that you're out there J, I'd back off now if I were you... Seriously.

So, onto music stuff!!!

Parkade has reopened it's doors on Kara Zor Isle and the slight redesign is still ongoing. Not much has happened image wise yet, but it will continue, so keep coming back to check. It's BootieSL tonight, so the gorgeous Diva will be taking to the decks beforehand to spin 2 hours worth of mashups before we switch over to Bootie in San Francisco for the musical mayhem :)

I'm also going to be doing the first of 2 sets this week at SecondPride, at 1-3am PDT on Sunday 13th. It's an early morning slot, so going to blow out the cobwebs with some monumentally gorgeous trance. Later on Sunday, I've also been asked to do a fashion show afterparty, from 11am-1pm PDT, but I've not had any more info on where it is etc. yet, so can't let you all know. Group notices will have to suffice ;)

Well, thats about it for the moment... Me n' Fukmi are blissfully happy, I love her to bits and am going to miss her terribly when she moves in RL, so will be probably without a connection for a bit. I'll just pounce on her when she comes back and we'll probably not be seen for a day ;)

As the song says...

Music is my first love. Actually, thats not true, Fukmi is. ...but music is pretty high on the list and it's a good job too because even though it's only Monday, my DJ schedule this week is looking rammed!!!

This weekend, starting on Thursday I shall be doing:

Thursday: Overdrive session, 4-6pm PDT @ Kara Zor (Where Parkade is moving to)
Friday: Independence Day party #1, 6-8pm PDT @ Kara Zor
Saturday: Independence Day party #2, 12-2pm PDT @ Kara Zor : Candy Girls, 2-6pm PDT @ Kara Zor : Grand Opening Party, 7-9pm PDT @ Rouge!!!

Yup, I'm one of the DJs spinning at the launch of Codie's utterly amazing new sim. I've been fortunate enough to see it so far and it IS the best looking sim I've ever seen in SL. I kid you not, it is phenomenal.

Anyway, thats 2 hours on Thursday, 2 hours on Friday with possibly a slot at Republik too earlier and 8 hours possibly on Saturday. I'm looking into the possibility of getting another DJ in at Candy Girls for the last 2 hours ;) I think I'll need the break :D

Anyway, it's going to be a mentalist weekend!!!

Saturday, June 28, 2008

I assure you, we're open...

Parkade might have closed temporarily, but BootieSL is going ahead tonight regardless. We’re shifting the party over to the beach at Club Republik, so grab your swimsuit, bikini or trunks and join us at 7pm PDT for me (Miss Cyberpink) DJing the Mash n’ Grab set prior to switching over to A&D, PartyBen, Dada and the rest of the Bootie crew at the DNA Lounge, San Francisco.

Normal service WILL be resumed at Parkade soon!!!

We'll be reopening the club on the Kara Zor Isle sim, which coincedentally is where Fukmi's flagship 'Fukmi Clothing' store is. It's also the home to Linda Brown's gorgeous shop 'Luscious Latex'. I know the girls well there and am so grateful for the offer of a home for Parkade. As the sim is losely based on an old airport, there will be a few cosmetic changes to Parkade, but nothing major, although I am building a new dancefloor :D

I'll be liasing with the builder at Kara Zor this week and planning things out, so Parkade will be rebuilt next Sunday/Monday. We've got quite a busy schedule lined up on Kara Zor this week though, with the Parkade crew playing 'cuckoo' and taking over the larger existing club there until that goes and Parkade moves in. So, the lineup?

Sunday Midday-2pm PDT - Traffic Jambient with Miss Cyberpink
Tuesday 2-4pm PDT - Terminal Velocity with DJ Foximus
Wednesday 2-4pm PDT - Cruise Control with DJNoNo Ulysses
Thursday 4-6pm PDT - Overdrive with Miss Cyberpink
Friday TBA - Independence Day Party with special 4 hour set by Miss Cyberpink
Saturday 5th July 2-6pm PDT - Candy Girls with Miss Cyberpink & possible guest DJ

Friday, June 27, 2008

It's been a while coming...

FYI, me and United Spinal in SL have parted company.

Parkade will be relocating, just not too sure where or when yet, but it will happen.

Crime doesn't pay...

Woohoo!!! I'm joining an elite crime fighting unit in SL! Won't say any more until I'm officially added to the team, but it's all greenlighted and it'll be go go go soon ;)

I'll give ya a clue. The only crimes I'll be fighting are those against fashion :D

Married Life is...

...Brilliant! The wedding was amazing, such a wonderful day and despite me crashing at two of the worst possible moments, such as walking down the aisle and just as I was about to give Fukmi her ring, it was a lovely ceremony and just a really great day. I will post pics up here soon, just need to export 'em from SL and resize them.

I was worried that there'd be no guests there, that no one would show, but plenty did and we were so pleased that so many of our friends joined us on the special day. I'd like to thank a few people, in no real particular order but... Savannah and Vengence for planning it all and especially Savannah for the lovely ceremony... Kitty for being my Maid of Honour, I was SO pleased you were there, Socks, Mist and Stacy for being my bridesmaids, thanks girls... NoNo for DJing at the reception party and for carrying on after me n' the new wife went back home again and most importantly I'd like to thank Fukmi, for making me the happiest girl in the world xXx. Massive thanks to Fukmi's bridal party too and to all the guests who took the trouble to spend the time with us, including some of Fukmi's RL family too ;)

In other news, but keeping it bridal, Fukmi is going to be exhibiting at the forthcoming Wedding Expo in SL, offering bespoke dresses etc. which is cool. I'll post more details here and on our official Fukmi Clothing blog soon.

Also, I've been asked to DJ at this year's official SecondLife Pride celebrations, which of course is a massive honour and one that I gladly undertake. I'll be spinning on Sunday 13th and Saturday 19th of July, 1-3am PDT both times... Again, I'll post a more substantial entry closer to the time, with the dates, times and location. It's gonna be a HUGE party and one not to miss...

I Will...

Yup, marriage is in the air. Wayne Rooney and Colleen McCulloch tied the knot in Italy recently and me n' Fukmi are doing the same today, 1pm PDT!!!

We thought about securing an exclusive picture deal with The Avastar (kidding), because frankly we couldn't be arsed dealing with the likes of OK! and Hello! magazines... I mean, it's not every day you get a wedding of such magnitude in SL, is it ;)

I know I've not mentioned it much here, we've both been SO busy with loads of other things recently, but we had the rehearsal yesterday and I know that both of us can't wait for this...

Fukmi Sideways, I love you xXx

It might only be June but...

...I am sticking my neck out a little and sort of posting about something RL, which also makes it's way into SL, when myself and DJNoNo Ulysses play it out in Parkade...

I'm talking of the wonderful 'Thou Shalt Always Kill', by Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, which is my record of the year... Here are the lyrics:

Thou shalt not steal if there is direct victim.
Thou shalt not worship pop idols or follow lost prophets.
Thou shalt not take the names of Johnny Cash, Joe Strummer, Johnny Hartman, Desmond Decker, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix or Syd Barret in vain.
Thou shalt not think that any male over the age of 30 that plays with a child that is not their own is a paedophile… Some people are just nice.
Thou shalt not read NME.
Thall shalt not stop liking a band just because they’ve become popular.
Thou shalt not question Stephen Fry.
Thou shalt not judge a book by it’s cover.
Thou shalt not judge Lethal Weapon by Danny Glover.
Thall shalt not buy Coca-Cola products. Thou shalt not buy Nestle products.
Thou shalt not go into the woods with your boyfriend’s best friend, take drugs and cheat on him.
Thou shalt not fall in love so easily.
Thou shalt not use poetry, art or music to get into girls’ pants. Use it to get into their heads.
Thou shalt not watch Hollyoaks.
Thou shalt not attend an open mic and leave as soon as you're done just because you’ve finished your shitty little poem or song you self-righteous prick.
Thou shalt not return to the same club or bar week in, week out just ’cause you once saw a girl there that you fancied but you’re never gonna fucking talk to.

Thou shalt not put musicians and recording artists on ridiculous pedestals no matter how great they are or were.

The Beatles - Were just a band.
Led Zepplin - Just a band.
The Beach Boys - Just a band.
The Sex Pistols - Just a band.
The Clash - Just a band.
Crass - Just a band.
Minor Threat - Just a band.
The Cure - Just a band.
The Smiths - Just a band.
Nirvana - Just a band.
The Pixies - Just a band.
Oasis - Just a band.
Radiohead - Just a band.
Bloc Party - Just a band.
The Arctic Monkeys - Just a band.
The next big thing - JUST A BAND.

Thou shalt give equal worth to tragedies that occur in non-English speaking countries as to those that occur in English speaking countries.
Thou shalt remember that guns, bitches and bling were never part of the four elements and never will be.

Thou shalt not make repetitive generic music

Thou shalt not make repetitive generic music

Thou shalt not make repetitive generic music

Thou shalt not make repetitive generic music

Thou shalt not pimp my ride.
Thou shalt not scream if you wanna go faster.
Thou shalt not move to the sound of the wickedness.
Thou shalt not make some noise for Detroit.
When I say “Hey” thou shalt not say “Ho”.
When I say “Hip” thou shalt not say “Hop”.
When I say "he say, she say, we say, make some noise" - kill me.
Thou shalt not quote me happy.
Thou shalt not shake it like a polaroid picture.
Thou shalt not wish your girlfriend was a freak like me.
Thou shalt spell the word “Pheonix” P-H-E-O-N-I-X not P-H-O-E-N-I-X, regardless of what the Oxford English Dictionary tells you.
Thou shalt not express your shock at the fact that Sharon got off with Bradley at the club last night by saying “Is it”.
Thou shalt think for yourselves.

And thou shalt always kill.

Awesome stuff!!!

I also have to say that I'm just a little more than excited about the events happening this weekend... On Friday night, we're having a wedding rehearsal and on Saturday, we're having the wedding!!! Gonna marry Fukmi, can't wait. Don't IM me on Saturday night, I won't reply ;)

Friday, May 30, 2008

You wait all week...

...and then 2 websites come along at once.

This blog has 2 'sister' sites, in the shape of the Cyberpink Weblog, which is a little space for me to update my mashup and remix creation activities and the other is the Fukmi Clothing blog, which Fukmi and myself are updating to keep everyone abreast of the developments over at the clothing label.

There will be some cross pollination with these 2 sites, and you might find big events are mentioned here as well as on there, because not everyone reads everything.

Oh and BTW, I'm hoping to have more news about Candy Girls, the new 'girls only' club night thats starting up soon, but since we had issues with Fire Island over an inrelated item, we decided to use 3 different venues and rotate them but I've just heard something about one of the locations we're planning on using and at the moment it looks as if we won't be using it, so once the details have been finalised, I shall let you (all) know.

Sunday, May 18, 2008

Well, it's been a while...

Last time I was here, I was in a state of turmoil with relationship crap n' stuff. Thats all been resolved and a LOT has happened since. I am SO much happier!!!

Firstly, me n' the girl are definitely together. In fact this vision of lovliness has a name, Fukmi Sideways (pronounced Fook-me). She's adorable and we've moved in together, more of which will be coming later in this post. She also did something pretty damned amazing, something thats never happened to me in SL before. She asked me to marry her and I said YES! So, we're currently talking to the wedding planners and everything is set for a June wedding, which will be stunning. I really can't wait.

She's also been designing the summer line for her clothing store and I've pitched in and made a line of tanktops and teeshirts in the summer colours she's picked, so they'll be on sale in her stores soon. I took a great idea by a cool company and gave it a little Fukmi twist, so hopefully they'll sell well. Her new stuff is looking good!

We're also teaming up with the lovely Stacy Spiegel, who is responsible for me meeting Fukmi in the first place. The three of us are organising and promoting a new female only night called 'Candy Girls' at the cool Fire Island, which will take place on the first Saturday of the month, starting in June. It's not a lesbian only night, but Fire Island is a gay resort, so we're expecting the place to be predomininantly vagitarian, but all women are welcome.

So anyway, we've got a house together. It's a pretty modern affair and as we both love art and graphic design, it's stacked to the gills with artwork too. As pictures are better than words, I've taken a few so you can see what it's all like... The house itself is from Botha Architects, who make some incredible homes, you really ought to check them out and the furnishings are from Corn, which is SL's answer to Ikea. The artwork was all selected by myself and Fukmi.

A view of the back of the house

The hallway, taken from the dining room

The lounge/living room, with cool 'Sea World' style window onto the pool!!

Looking up into the hallway from the lounge

Hallway and dining room, leading through to the study

The bedroom and (as yet unfurnished) balcony

The study, the very creative hub of the house

The lounge again, with the cats

Relaxing at home...

Just chilling...

Unfortunately...

I've come to a conclusion I'm not keen on, made a decision I didn't want to, but things had to be done and they have been.

Not so long ago, I announced that I was seeing a long term friend on a romantic basis. Leah. I've known Leah for a few months less than I've been in SL, maybe even weeks and she's never been the sort of person who'd be online all the time, but certainly for a lot of 2007, she was MIA, AWOL etc. This cost her a relationship, as her partner at the time just couldn't handle the uncertainty of things. Not knowing how she was, what was happening etc. It'd get to anyone.

Unfortunately, it's got to me too. Since getting together with Leah, I've seen her for an approximate total of 3 hours and she's been missing now for over 5 weeks. It's not a case of 'Ships that pass in the night', where we've missed each other logging in, she hasn't logged in for over 5 weeks. I too can't take this uncertainty and therefore I'm ending things. I've been agonising over this for a while now, I've talked to friends about this and they've all said pretty much the same thing, in their own specific way and I've reached the logical conclusion and agreed with what they've been telling me, even though I knew it was really the only choice anyway.

What has also compounded and accelerated my decision is the chance meeting with someone. It's quite an amazing tale really, but I'll give you a brief rundown. We get a new, eager tenant on Motorability Island, who brings lots of staff with him, one of them being an amiable woman who is keen to integrate things and work with us. For reasons I'm not going into, she and the tenant part ways, but she continues to work with us on MI, bringing in contacts, ideas and really helping out. She's brilliant. We stay friends, in fact becoming better friends now that the business suits are out of the way. Anyway, one day we're talking about general stuff and she invites me to the launch of a new sim, owned by Linda Brown, of Lucious Latex fame (and it IS luscious!!!). Anyway, conversations lead on and I actually wound up DJing at the launch party and then hanging out there the next day, for the 'Latex Hunt', which was a lot of fun. This, is where I met someone really cool and on the same wavelength as me, totally on the same wavelength. We talked for hours, even missing most of the party there on the island. As it happens, friendship developed and more.

Yes, I'm seeing her, we're not a couple (yet), but I think it will happen. She's cute, smart, funny, intelligent, happens to log in LOTS, talented and gorgeous. I like her for WHO she is, not what she is or does (she's a fashion designer) and meeting her, totally clicking with her and just really enjoying being with her has accelerated my decision about Leah, but then as I said, I'd been slowly crawling towards the inevitable anyway, putting it off as I didn't want to hurt anyone, forgetting that at the moment, only one person is being hurt by all of this. Me.

So, no doubt I'll see 'the girl' tonight and we'll head off somewhere and be romantic together. When we're totally comfortable, I'll name names, but for the moment, I'll keep her identity a secret.

Oh and yes, I DO feel guilty that I've ended things with Leah and she's not around to get the message, but I've been leaving her IMs now for 5 weeks, emailing her and haven't heard a single word, so excuse me if I seem a little cold hearted, I'm just protecting the most important person in my life. Me.

In The Night...

Wow, last night was a proper laugh at Parkade, the Pet Shop Boys 'special' went down really well (I know DJNoNo got photos, I'll hassle him for them soon) and we're already planning a couple more one off nights like it, probably on Thursdays again, and once again with the theme of sticking to one band and their direct related projects and remixes... I won't give anything away now, but we've got two more HUGE UK bands lined up to focus on, so stay tuned for details. Hehe, remaking some of those record covers might be even more fun than the one we did for 'finally'. Both myself and DJNoNo loved doing it, I know that Kitty had a blast too and it was her idea, so I have to thank her for coming up with a really cool concept. I know I did something similar with my Orbital special, but this involved both me and NoNo and the future ones will be collaborative, 4 hour specials too.

Anyway, I recorded my set from last night which I have cheekily entitled 'Mixography', so if you want to listen to everything I played in all it's 'sometimes slightly wonkily mixed' glory, you can download it from here. The tracklisting is as follows:

Pet Shop Boys - Jealousy

Pet Shop Boys - Domino Dancing
Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls
Pet Shop Boys - DJ Culture
Pet Shop Boys - Miracles [Lemon Jelly remix]

The weekend...

Blimey, I'm shattered! It's almost 1am here, I'm writing this now and then going to bed!

It's been a weekend and a half. Lots of music, a sim complex launch, red lingerie and more music!

Firstly, adding it all up, I've DJed this weekend for a total of... 11 1/4 hours (approx) on Friday night, Saturday and tonight. Friday was at the sim launch party for MetaStage and then on to Republik for my usual Friday night slot there... Saturday saw me spinning at Parkade as part of the very successful Motorability Island opening celebrations. Callie Cline and Kiana Dulce (plus supporting cast) put on a cool fashion show, then it was over to Fairgrounds Speedway and Dirtfield Raceway for some fun races, then we all headed over to Parkade for some dancing etc. There was a short break and then Bannock Ogg took over the musical baton and played for at least a couple of hours, but at 4am local time, I had to call it a night and sleep ;)

Today saw the rather excellent, hugely popular and sim filling Boudoir Rouge launch party at Codie's 'Code Red Lounge'. I managed to keep going there for about 3 3/4 hours before having to end and then snapping a few piccies of Codie for her compy, just as a giggle... I've just left there and now I really need sleep!!!

It's been a mental weekend, one that has been fun from start to finish and I'd just like to thank the Motorability Crew, Nadine Wilder, Mist, Kitty and of course Codie and the rest of the party animals for a fantastic time...

Fashion, Cars n' Avatars

Today is the official 'Grand Opening' of United Spinal Asociation's 'Motorability Island', the vast 7 sim complex that used to belong to Pontiac.

It's been a mammoth task sorting out everything since the handover and we've not finished yet, but we're at the stage where we can step back for a day, open the place officially and then finish off later.

We've got a pretty good day lined up, here's a sort of schedule of events:

9am-10am : Callie Cline & Kiana Dulce Fashion Show
10am-12pm : Demonstration racing at Fairgrounds Speedway
12pm - 2pm : Miss Cyberpink DJing @ Parkade
2pm-6pm : General dancing at the US.org Welcome Centre
6pm-8pm : Bannock Ogg DJing @ US.org Welcome Centre

There will be plenty of places to donate L$, all going to United Spinal and there are freebies dotted around the Island on various builds...

Hope to see you there!

We've got a Code Red!

Yup, Codie is getting ready to launch her Boudoir Rouge series onto the grid and the party is on Sunday 30th March at 11am PDT, with me spinning the tunes for at least 3 hours.

It's a themed party, natch, with the theme of red undies, so grab those red silk boxers, the red satin thongs, the red lade G strings and join us for one of the parties of the year!!! I WILL be DJing in red lingerie, that is a guarantee :D The music will be on the trancey side and IF I can get it done in time, I might début an original track :D

Anyway, we'd love to see you there and seeing as Codie and I have blogged about it, you can't say you haven't been warned :D

I'm still in shock...

I was bimbling around the grid on Saturday when I struck up a conversation with a very bored Codie. Now, I don't know anyone who hasn't heard of the lovely Codie, but if you don't know her, you should check out her blog to see just how brain-stampingly amazing she is. I am very honoured to be her friend and she's a truly wonderful person...

Aaaaanyway, we were chatting about this, that and some of the other when she asked me if I wanted to do a Boudoir Rouge photoshoot for her. I mean me? A Boudoir Rouge photoshoot? I had to ask her if she was serious and she was, so I spent the next couple of hours in her studio, being photographed for what has to be one of the sexiest and most sensual photosets in the history of SL. When all the photos are revealed at the launch party soon, it's just going to be stunning and I'm in one of them... I'm still stunned, shocked and amazed that Codie asked me. It's SUCH an honour to be in this series. I also posed for some nude photos, all tasteful I might add, but they're for something else, which I'm sure Codie will mention soon enough.

So yeah, I am a Boudoir Rouge Babe... Wow!!!

It's not all about speed...

...well, actually this isn't true, it IS all about speed but now and again it's nice to trundle around in a lower gear ;)

I was ambling around Motorability Island when I spotted a cool scooter, so checked it out and it turns out it was made by a Japanese guy called Japaga Jun, over at the Medaka Seaside Club. I 'ported over there to get a better look and found that he also loves and makes replicas of the cute little Fiat 500, which she calls the 'Feet 500'. Well, I HAD to have them...

I bought the standard car, the convertible and the monster Abarth 500, which puts in times around the Fairgrounds Speedway that beat some of the race cars there. It's such a hoot!!! I've added a couple of piccies to the blog so you can see them, but if you want a serious slice of riviera retro chic, go and get one... :D

Me n' the 'Feet 500' take a break from cruising around Motorability Island

The mighty little 'Abarth Feet 500' grips the road as it exits the tunnel

It might look small, but it packs a mighty punch and is a blast to drive

Kitty + Amanda = Sn@tch fun!!!

Nooooo, it's not what you think!!!

Me n' the ever fabby Kitty went over to Sn@tch, so she could introduce me to their lovely clothes. I sorta splurged and bought a *few* outfits, because their stuff is oh so lovely, really well made and looks fabby :D Kitty stood there patiently whilst I ran around making "Oooh" and "Ahhhh" noises and buying lots of things. Later last night, she stopped by at Parkade and was dancing away until the wee small hours of the morning (UK time), chatting away merrily to DJNoNo Ulysses, whilst I listened in on the conversation and snuck tracks in that they were talking about... :D T'was fun! Tonight, I'll be at Republik again for another in the Bikini Beach Babes nights that we've started doing there... I say 'we' as Mist (aka Mistress Beresford) and myself have taken it upon ourselves to run my set out on the beach and to do it in skimpy beachware, hence the title. I'll be spinning, she'll be hosting. 5-7pm PST @ Republik.

I'm a bit miffed with the Cubic Effect hoodie I bought. It's fantastically made, it's really nice BUT, it doesn't fit. The clothing layer lets it down, because the hoodie layer doesn't come up my arms far enough to meet the sculptie prim sleeves, so I have bare patches, which looks unsightly. I've sent the designer an IM, but I'll probably have to drop her a notecard. It's a shame, because something so simple has let this design down, which is a pity... ***Update*** I spoke to the lovely Mirai who made the awesome clothing and she's taken my body stats and made me a custom set!! Now, that is what I call customer service. The new modified prims look amazing and I'm in love with the set. She's a seriously talented girl.

In other news, I'm off to the swanky Linden Labs party this weekend as the guest of Patty Streeter, who owns the Motorability Island sim complex... I need to sort out a posh frock to wear ;) I have something *pretty* eyecatching in mind :D

To a very sweet, dear and incredible friend...

...Get well soon ya cowbag!!! xXx

Luv n' huggles heading your way down the wires hun!

I can has a meme...

That cheeky Kitty has tagged me for the book meme, so here goes with my response... The rules of the aforementioned meme are:

1: Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages)

2: Open the book to page 123

3: Find the 5th sentence

4: Post the next 3 sentences

5: Tag 5 more people

Okies, I pick up the book, turn to page 125, read the sentences are...

"'We took in instrumentals and other people's rap records, had a well-written and rehearsed rap, and sung over the instrumentals', they remember. Debbie, 'Reme-Dee', listened to and recorded every session they did, even though she only had a 'crap cassette recorder: I will always remember John Peel saying he hoped that one day we'd be making records of our own. The Cookie Crew first recorded on the hit 'Rok the House' in 1987, and signed to London Records in 1988."

The book in question is the utterly fascinating and amazing 'The Peel Sessions' by Ken Garner. It chronicles the history of the live music sessions that made John Peel's radio shows so brilliant, plus gives a complete session by session list of all artists, times, dates etc. It's incredible!

Now, I have to nominate 5 others to take this meme, so I pick... TheDiva, Veyron, Vint, Zoe and Dandellion... :D

I popped the question...

...and she said YES!

Leah and I are engaged!!!

Now, I know some of you will be saying "Hang on, you've only just met her" etc. Thing is, we've known each other for over a year, well over a year and in that time we've come to know each other very well and are extremely close. Nothing has happened in 'that' way between us, until now, but I feel totally comfortable, at ease and deliriously happy with Leah and so therefore I don't see any reason why I can't ask her to marry me now...

Which is what I did :D And as I said, her reply was "Yes you know I will honey", which made me the happiest girl in SL.

The wedding will be at our place, but as we don't have the land or house built yet, we're waiting until it's all sorted before we plan things, buy dresses, sort out someone to take the ceremony, guests etc. Still, can't wait!!

Dare to go bare...

I was ambling around the grid when the luvvly Kitty gave me a shout and before I knew it, I was on her photo platform, oohing and aahing over some of the hundreds of poses that she has...

Spotting a rather famous chair there, I thought it would be fun to strip off and take a few tasteful nude photos and that it would also be fun to share them with you too, so here they are...

The notorious Christine Keeler pose

'Skin' Deep

I was browsing, as one does over at RaC and something caught my eye... They have what look like photorealistic skins as their usual price, so I looked up and down and settled on one...

Personally, I think it looks stunning, but then I would ;)

See what you think :D

One door closes...

They say that when one door closes, another opens and in this case 'they'* are right. I'm moving on, starting afresh and am feeling much happier within myself because of recent events...

I'm seeing someone. Well, she deserves to be given a name as 'someone' isn't very nice. She's the gorgeous, lovely and adorable Leah and I couldn't be happier at the moment. We've known each other for a LONG time in SL now and she's been there when I've needed her, I've been there when she's needed me and we have no secrets, no dark little areas where surprises lurk, it's simple. I feel very comfortable with her, but then I always have and taking this final step and turning the friendship into a romance is the logical step for both of us... It also happens that Leah is the ex of the person who Sadie is now seeing, so we've managed to swap and everyone seems happier. I know Leah and I certainly are.

I would also like to take a few moments to thank the wonderful Kitty, who has been an absolute rock over the last few days, with emails flying around, inworld chats etc. and she's been just amazing and I want to say that I luv her to bits and could not ask for a better friend in the world than her. Thanks hunni, you're one in a million!!

Other stuff has been happening too... I'm thinking of splashing out and paying for an advertising campaign on SLCN.tv during the SLASCAR races, promoting Parkade (and will be speaking to the lovely Codie about filming soon too), plus other things may be happening regarding modelling, but you'll have to wait and see about that one ;)

The bottom line though is that I am a LOT happier about things now, I have some great friends, I'm busy and active within SL, I'm not sitting at my desk at work moping about this, that and the other and most importantly, I have a fantastic girlfriend who I love to bits... Life, is sweet!

* Who are 'they' and why do they always have an opinion on stuff?

The state of the union...

Well, I'm happier. I'm not going into details here, I don't air dirty laundry in public but whilst Sadie and I have split and are not going to get back together, we've had a much needed heart to heart and cleared the air and to be honest, I think it's lifted a huge weight off hers and my shoulders.

It needed to happen, it's happened and theres no animosity, no nastiness, we're still friends, I care a great deal for her and will always be watching out for her and whilst it's changed, I love her, but now as a very dear and close friend.

I know a few people out there have sent me messages of support etc. and thank you. I am much better now, much happier within myself and starting to look to the future. As for my relationships in the future, as usual I'm not looking but if something happens then it happens.

Finally I'd like to say that I'm still very proud that Sadie and I kept things together in SL for over a year. Yes, we had ups and downs, but the SL lesbian community is a rocky place at the best of times and we defied the critics and survived. This is an unfortunate thing, but when people change, sometimes you have to let go and be true to yourself, which is what Sadie is doing. I wish her all the luck in the world for the future and I know that we'll be friends, very good friends for a long time to come.

Friday, February 15, 2008

Just good friends...

I'm sorry to say that Sadie and I have split up. I'm not going into why it happened, it's very personal but it's happened.

I still love her very much and I hope this isn't the end of things, just a temporary thing, but I don't know when or indeed if things will change.

We're still friends, but that is all for the moment.

I am very saddened and low at the moment, for a few reasons, one of them being this.

And the winner is...

...ME!!!

I won the Republik Iron DJ Competition!!! Bloody hell, I'm stunned. Apparently I blew the judges away!

Blimey, I'm gobsmacked!!

Need sleep though, gotta be up for work in less than 4 hours!!!

Happenings...

I'm not dead, I've just been very busy and showing no signs of slowing down at the moment as we're knee deep in redevelopment work over on the Motorability Island complex, which WAS Pontiac's Motorati Island, but isn't any more...

Lots and lots of building work n' stuff to be done.

I promise I'll post some new piccies to my Flickr soon too, been snapping various outfits and happenings over the last few weeks and have been meaning to do it for a while now.

Everything must go...

Well, I managed it. Hopped over to the Canimal sim and then got myself some altitude and repeatedly bounced off the Dazzle sim border for ages!! (ok then, 2 minutes). It worked. I got in, had a wander around Last Call and wound up spending L$2300 on new clobber, including one gorgeous gown which was admittedly L$600, but the rest was all L$100 a pop, so I got some bargains. I am now officially 'frocked up' and won't need to buy a new gown for a long time.

I just need to get invited to glittery occasions now :D

Dazzled...

Still can't get in to the Last Call sale, so will use some cunning tactics at the weekend and see if I can find an alleged quiet spell to go shopping...

So, I simply HAD to console myself with some gowns and stuff from Blaze. I'll 'borrow' Kitty's photo studio soon and take some snaps for y'all.. :D

L is for...

Hehe, TOTALLY rocked it at 'The L Word' Emmy party on the L Word sim last night... I was on fire!!! I know the crowd loved it too.

I'll be playing there again ;)

Friday, January 11, 2008

Nearly there...

Dammit, we're SO close! As soon as I'm able, I have some amazing news about a huge new project that I'm immersed in.

Should have the all-clear to publicly announce things very soon indeed. This directly affects Parkade too, so I'm seriously eager to get cracking...

Reflections on a year past

It's hard to describe a whole year in a few paragraphs. Lots has happened to me in RL and SL. I'll give it a shot, but I'm more than likely to forget lots of stuff...

I'll deal with RL first. I got a job. That has been the biggest improvement to my life outside SL and the biggest hinderance to my life inside SL, but it was something that needed to happen and the sheer feeling of relief to see money coming back in is overwhelming.

In SL it's been a seriously amazing year... I've done SO much stuff this year and have gone from a true noob to a fully fledged citizen of the Metaverse and even a minor SLebrity! In February, the most important event in my SL existance took place. I married Sadie in a ceremony on the beach at our old house in Sardonyx. It was a hectic day to say the least with a last minute venue change etc. but we overcame and we said our vows, exchanged our rings and were married. I know a lot of people will laugh this off as being trivial and stupid, but to me and Sadie it's very real. We KNOW it's SL, we know it's not RL but it feels real to us and as I for one am really not in a position to want to contemplate a RL romance due to many issues in my past, we're incredibly happy with what we have. To us it's the real thing and thats how we like it. Let the cynics laugh, we're serious about it all.

I also became part of something really quite spectacular in May when I took over the Parkade club on the now closed Motorati Island, a sprawling 7 sim complex owned by Pontiac and managed on a day to day basis by Campfire Media, in New York. Things weren't always plain sailing and smooth. I know I ruffled the occasional feathers with my gung-ho attitude and approach to things, failing to understand why some people should be allowed to seemingly not care about contributing to what was a vibrant and incredible community, especially when they were getting 100% free land and making a nice little profit from their enterprises on the Pontiac sims too. Regardless of all that, I like to think that I gave my heart to the Motorati project and it's closing a few days ago was a hard thing to take, especially pulling apart my club for relocation. However, all things are leading to an even more spectacular project that some of the Motorati residents are undertaking and I will be managing the whole thing, as the right hand of the incredibly cool Patty Streeter.

In other areas of SL, things have also been pretty damned good. I've made some really amazing friends (and met some complete and utter morons) but I know that there are some special names in my flist and I'd really miss 'em if they weren't around. They probably know who they are and if they don't then they should... A few of 'em have blogs that are linked from this page... ;)

So, what does 2008 have in store for me? Well, I'll be celebrating one year of marriage to the gorgeous Sadie, taking charge in a new and exciting multi sim project with Patty and the Motorati refugees, expanding my Parkade Club in it's new home, developing my business interests in SL too, downloading, sampling and composing some awesome music to play to people at Parkade and generally having an amazing time in the Metaverse...

Can't wait ;)
